KIK Studio vs Orum.

Orum is an AI dialler for SDR and BDR teams, sold on a quote with a minimum of 9 seats. I built KIK Studio for UK and EU B2B teams of one to twenty who want to make one call at a time, with a rep on every call. Everything below about Orum comes from its own pages, checked on 3 October 2026, with the sources listed at the end.

The facts side by side

Orum's own pages differ on a few points. The homepage FAQ names plans called Launch and Ascend, while the pricing page names only Ascend. The dialler page gives a median connect time of .7 seconds and, in a table on the same page, "Sub 0.5 second connects". I've left those details out of the table.

Where Orum is the better choice

• SDR or BDR teams of nine or more who want parallel dialling. Orum runs up to 5 lines at once.
• Teams that want AI to deal with pickups. Orum says its Operator "identifies every pickup: human, screener, voicemail, or phone tree", and drops a pre-recorded message when it reaches voicemail.
• Teams calling many countries. Orum says it supports calling into the US, Canada and "160+ international countries and regions", plan dependent.
• Buyers who need enterprise paperwork. Orum's security page lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001:2022, and its DPA includes the UK Addendum for transfers out of the UK.

Where KIK Studio fits

KIK Studio is a browser-based dialler, built in Sheffield, and I use it on my own cold calls. It's for teams of one to twenty, so a team of two or three can use it. There'll be no minimum seats and no annual contract required, but pricing is not published yet.

It dials one call at a time, with a rep on every call. There's no parallel or predictive mode. A ringing call can't be hung up before 15 seconds, enforced on the server, and unanswered calls give up after a limit you set.

Pressing 0 adds the person and number to your do not call list. You can upload your own list of numbers, emails and company domains, and a suppressed number can't be dialled, with the reason shown on the card.

Lists come in by CSV, with UK number normalisation and duplicate handling. Outcomes are one key, from 1 to 9 and 0, and create follow-up tasks. Callbacks go to the top of the queue on the day they're due, and the next contact dials after each outcome.

It doesn't have CRM integrations, transcription, AI summaries or coaching, parallel dialling, SMS, inbound call centre features, a mobile app, or built-in TPS screening today.

UK rules and calling

For UK calling, the rules that matter are PECR, the TPS and CTPS registers, and Ofcom's policy on abandoned and silent calls. Ofcom expects unanswered calls to ring for at least 15 seconds, and says the 3% abandoned call rate was never a safe harbour. The UK cold calling law guide covers each one with sources.

Neither Orum nor KIK Studio publishes built-in TPS or CTPS screening, so screen your list before it goes into either tool. The TPS and CTPS guide explains why B2B callers check both registers.

Orum's pricing page lists call recordings as included. KIK Studio records from the moment the other person answers, and you can switch it off. If you record, tell the person. The call recording guide covers what UK law expects.

Which one to pick

If you have nine or more SDRs, want parallel lines and AI pickup detection, Orum is built for that. If you're a smaller UK team dialling one call at a time, KIK Studio is in early access.
